Music video by Eric Bellinger performing The 1st Lady. Since releasing his first full length album The ReBirth earlier this year, Eric Bellinger has been on the road performing shows and promoting his single “I Don’t Want Her” non stop, while continuously writing for other artists as well. During that time he signed his first record deal as a solo artist on Lyor Cohen’s new company 300 Entertainment. With fans patiently awaiting new visuals off his album the R&B star on the rise has now premiered the music video for “The 1st Lady.” Directed by actress Meagan Good, the highly stylized visual finds Bellinger and his very own first lady leading an underground rebel group where loyalty is tested. “Meagan, a long time close family friend, came with an amazing video concept after hearing the song,” explains Eric. “I knew it would be the perfect way to bring ‘The 1st Lady’ to life. She did an unbelievable job setting the tone and storyline. And she kept the substance of the song and the look current.” Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Eric says; “Growing up, I was fortunate to have an amazing example of a great woman with my mother. With ‘The 1st Lady,’ I show a different perspective on women than what we see a lot of times in music and media. I want everyone to know there are men out here that respect independent women that do positive things while they hold their man down for all the right reasons.” The video is set to make its debut on BET 106 and Park next week when Good appears on the show to promote her role in the new comedy Think Like Man Too.
